What fun!
Requiem 1.8.12 has been released for Mac/x86. As I write this it's been out about a week, and thanks to 'anonymous' for the heads up below. I'll post a download link when (if) I have one. It scarcely matters anyway, since iTunes 9 came out just a couple of days later with the 'wonderful' new LP feature, and Requiem is, of course, broken again.
Now I love album notes, and I miss the 12" album sleeves we had with vinyl. The artwork, lyrics, artist credits all added to the 'music' experience. iTunes LP goes some way to addressing that, but it is, of course, chargeable. I am expected pay for the music, and then to pay again for material that used to be part of the package. I have come to resent the perception common in big business that the customer is nothing more than a pot of money to be tapped as often and as deeply as possible. I find myself increasingly drawn to the likes of Magnatune where I can get great music, DRM free, and the musicians get a fair cut. More, please!
Ok - for the iTunes die hards here's the situation:
Requiem 1.8.12 works on the Mac/x86 only, for iTunes 8.2.x. No Windows version yet, and there may not be one, because...
iTunes forces an upgrade to iTunes 9 before you can buy anything and iTunes 9 breaks Requiem 1.8.12.
